Rafa has very good ubication and orientation in the deffensive zone, excellent in marking, as good as by zone as personal, his free kicks are with tremendous force and location. In aerial game, is very difficult to pass. Simply the best mexican youth player at the end of the millenium, has been member of the Mexican National Team at all the levels. Participated in 1999 U-20 FIFA World Cup and was included in the competition Dream Team. In 1999, few months after Nigeria's World Cup, he made his international debut, and has settled in Lapuente's starting line-up. Marquez was also included in 1999 Copa America Dream Tem. Transferred to AS Monaco for $6.50 Millions of Dollars. In his first season, he settled as a first team player and became so good in France that he was voted into the Dream team of the season and also chosen best defender.
