Martin Palermo's career has grown as the foam, since his arrival to Boca Juniors. Its year of consecration was 1998, he was named the best player of South America, over great ones like Chilavert and Gamarra, helped Boca to won the 17th Championship in the club history and was also the Argentine league top-scorer, breaking the record of most goals scored in a season. Received his first call to the Argentine National Team, when Marcelo Bielsa was named head coach. Apparently everything was ready for Palermo to play with Lazio, but a very serious injury minutes before scoring his 100th goal in Argentine First Division League, kept him out of playing for many games. And in his return in Copa Libertadore's second leg Quarter Final v River Plate, he scored the third goal for the xeneises to give Boca their pass to semifinals.
