Alvaro Recoba is the new best player of Uruguay, the change of Francescolli and Ruben Sosa, the new pearl of their football. He has a prodigious left, and is also able to be the leader of the uruguayan national team. Alvaro plays in the midforward, assisting with his golden left, although he also can do it as the left midfielder or as a pure forward. He shots fouls and corners and have no problems to lead the team. The typical South American play of Recoba had problems to adapt Italian Calcio, but with 6 months on a team fighting to avoid relegation, Recoba adapted to the Serie A. Nicknamed "Chino," because of his Asian features.
